Create + Think Design Studio, a renowned design team led by Arthur Ho, has crafted a unique private house in the bustling city of Taipei. Nestled in a quiet section of Ren Ai Road, between two side streets measuring 4 and 6 meters wide respectively, the Honeycomb House is a beacon of tranquility and innovative design. The house's unique properties lie in its eco-friendly skin, a 25cm thick layer of metal that sinks between the interior and exterior, providing a cooling shade while allowing enough light to seep through.

The design of the Honeycomb House was inspired by the hexagonal shape of a honeycomb structure, a concept that has been meticulously realized using materials such as metal, concrete, and stone. The façade imparts a smooth surface, with four terraces protruding into the air, as if breathing for the building. This design not only adds depth to the structure but also frames beautiful images of a dance between shadow and light from inside the house.

The project, which started in August 2009 and was completed in March 2011, faced several creative and technical challenges. The theme of the design was 'unfolding', with a spacious terrace assigned for each floor to allow both space and spirit to extend beyond the physical enclosure and integrate with the environment.
