The design's unique properties lie in its concept of travelling through space-time portals. As the camera flies through the energy field, historical eras change, or the viewer enters a dimension filled with theme-related objects. The external surface of the circle, which serves as the portal, is adorned with symbols from different historical eras, while a rotating Cyrillic letter inside serves as a clock pointer.
Denisov's team maximized the cinematic look of the project, making textures, historical objects, and locations appear incredibly realistic, akin to live shooting. The design was realized using 3D Studio Max for 3D modeling and animation, V-Ray for shading and rendering, Houdini for highly detailed simulations, and Adobe After Effects for composing.
The design's interaction perfectly fits into the idea of the "History" channel and interacts seamlessly with the logo. The circle element of the logo, resembling a space-time portal, was key in visually conveying the concept of time. As viewers pass through this portal, times and eras change, with the logo stylized according to specific historical themes.
Denisov and his team faced the creative challenge of representing the four elements: earth, fire, water, and air, in the main 30-second ID and 10-second IDs. They successfully portrayed these through significant historical events, such as the construction of the Egyptian pyramids, the Vesuvius eruption, the Siege of Tenochtitlan, and the first human space flight.
The project, which started and finished in Moscow in 2015, is a testament to the power of design in enhancing viewer experience. It's not just a TV Channel ID, but a captivating journey through time, a testament to the power of design in enhancing viewer experience. This innovative design approach has rightfully earned Denisov and his team the prestigious Golden A' Design Award, a recognition given to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that advance art, science, design, and technology.
