Designer Ghazaleh Hajibabaiy found inspiration for the Chuva pendant in the music of Portuguese singer Mariza. The pendant is a visual representation of the emotions and memories evoked by Mariza's songs. "I am used to seeing my feelings in the form of a picture," says Hajibabaiy, explaining the origin of the design.
What sets the Chuva pendant apart is its unique sense of hope. Despite cultural differences, the pendant resonates with people worldwide who have experienced the universal emotions of falling in love, loss, and the power of memories. It symbolizes the ability to move forward and find solace in difficult times.
The design of the Chuva pendant is derived from two key sentences in Mariza's song: "That the fire of love, in the rain just now died" and "The rain listened to my secret and shared it with the city." The pendant features a raindrop, symbolizing movement and the moment of impact, containing a tree, symbolizing life. The blossoms on the tree represent hope.
The Chuva pendant's rotation ability allows it to be viewed from all angles, adding to its uniqueness. The raindrop is designed in cool colors, representing sadness, while the tree is adorned with warm colors, symbolizing happiness and hope. This balance between emotions creates a visually striking piece of jewelry.
The Chuva pendant is made using a combination of gold with three colors (rose, white, and black), diamond stones, blue diamonds, and rubies. Its dimensions are 34-40 mm in height, 20 mm in width, and 20.1 mm in length.
Using Matrix software, the design was brought to life and can be produced using 3D printers. The project was completed in February 2016 in Tehran, Iran, after a month of research and design development.
In recognition of its exceptional design, the Chuva pendant was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2016. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate innovation, practicality, and professional excellence.
The Chuva pendant is not just a piece of jewelry; it is a symbol of hope, memories, and the resilience of the human spirit. It serves as a reminder that even in the face of difficulties, we can find strength and continue to move forward.
