A Poster Representing the Interconnectedness of Designers

The official exhibition entitled "Between" showcased the work of 12 young designers and design studios from around the world. The participants were asked to create pieces that explored the meaning of the word "between". Daeki Shim & Hyojun Shim's poster represents the interconnectedness of these 12 participants, highlighting the connections and relationships between them.

What sets this poster apart is its ability to be viewed from different angles, allowing the audience to experience the interconnectedness in a tangible way. The design was meticulously planned and executed, with Adobe Illustrator used for the initial design process. Multiple experimental printings were done to ensure the details were clear and the colors were accurate.

The poster measures W 594 mm x H 841 mm, making it a visually impactful piece that can easily be displayed in various settings. Its design and concept were developed during the period between June and September 2010, in London, UK.

Creating this poster presented a significant challenge for Daeki Shim & Hyojun Shim. They had to find the connection between the 12 different designers and artists, each with their own unique viewpoints, thoughts, and concepts. Expressing this connection in a single poster required careful consideration and creative problem-solving.

As co-founders of Gallery-Between, Daeki Shim and HyoJun Shim were involved in various aspects of the exhibition, including the planning and design of the poster, logo, and flyer. Their dedication to showcasing the interconnectedness of the participants resulted in a visually stunning and thought-provoking piece of art.

This design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2016 in the category of Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design. This prestigious award recognizes designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity and resourcefulness, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology. Daeki Shim & Hyojun Shim's poster contributes to the improvement of quality of life and showcases their strong technical and creative skills.
