Mini apartment "Violet Crystal"

A Compact and Streamlined Living Space

Designer Alex Bazyl draws inspiration from nature to create a unique and comfortable living space for a small family. The "Violet Crystal" mini apartment is a testament to the designer's ability to maximize space and create a visually stunning environment.

A one-room apartment design, the "Violet Crystal" aims to create an utmost open and unusual space. With a total floor area of 30 square meters, the challenge was to create a functional and comfortable living space within a limited area. The key interior design solution lies in the streamlined shapes of the walls and the functional application of inclinations and bends. The flowing lines of the walls, decorative elements, and furniture make the apartment very comfortable for permanent residence despite its small size.

The curvilinear walls are made of a metal framing and plasterboard, providing smooth angles and a visually appealing aesthetic. The ceiling, also made of a metal framing and thinner plasterboard, adds to the overall design concept. The furniture, in the form of a couch-table, is manufactured with a stiff frame, serving as both seating furniture and a functional table. The ceiling lighting, linked to parametric research, utilizes ground acrylic glass and LED illumination to create a unique and dynamic atmosphere. The floor is adorned with parquet strips, with the couch zone being set off with carpet flooring.

The "Violet Crystal" mini apartment is not just about aesthetics; it also focuses on functionality. The visual delimiting of the single studio apartment was achieved through the ceiling and floor patterns. The bedroom area is clearly defined, with a built-in closet separating it from the entry hall, and a transformable curtain separating it from the living room area. The bathroom features an inner window, allowing natural light to fill the small space.

Located in Ukraine, Kyiv, the "Violet Crystal" mini apartment project was delivered in 2016. It showcases the designer's ability to create a comfortable and visually stunning living space within a compact area. The unique design and attention to detail have earned the "Violet Crystal" mini apartment the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2017.

With its streamlined design, open space concept, and practicality, the "Violet Crystal" mini apartment is a testament to the fact that less can indeed be more. The dynamic lines and unique features of this design create a living space that is both functional and visually appealing, making it a perfect choice for those seeking a compact and stylish living solution.
