The unique properties of "Reincarnation" lie in its use of natural textures. Wood and stone create the main visual effects, with granite's crystalline graininess defining the recreation area. The design's strength lies in its ability to generate a unique language through the stone's natural texture, making the 105 sqm house aesthetically appealing in both its independent and public areas.
Chin-Shu Chen and his team, including Eros Kuo and Amelie Chuang, used substantial amounts of stone and wood to create regional divisions within the home. By placing suitable furniture, they emphasized the interaction between spaces, creating the core of the home. The design was realized in Taipei, Taiwan, between November 2014 and December 2015.
The design's interaction is another notable feature. Originally a 25-year-old rented office, the house was transformed using a black and white substrate to incorporate harmonious textures. This approach not only enhanced the storage function but also eliminated the oppressive feeling of the building's gallery structure.
Despite the challenges posed by the building's structure, the design team managed to create a sense of harmony. The black and white color tone enhanced the storage function and effectively eliminated the oppressive feeling of the gallery structure, generating harmonious feelings. The warm and leisurely interplay of stone and wood elements manifests an attitude of freedom and relaxation.
"Reincarnation" has been recognized for its innovative and practical design, winning the Iron A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements, contribute to a better world, and provide fulfillment and positive feelings.
