Chen-Chuan Tang's "Sea of Fertility": A Harmonious Blend of British and Taiwanese Design

Exploring the Unique Design of a Family-Managed Villa in Taiwan's Famous Resort, Kenting

Chen-Chuan Tang's "Sea of Fertility" is a unique blend of British and Taiwanese design elements, creating a harmonious and comfortable environment in a family-managed villa located in Taiwan's renowned resort, Kenting. The design, which won the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017, is a testament to Tang's innovative approach to interior design.

The villa, which is situated on a wide hilly land extending from the coastline to the inland, is reminiscent of a European country manor. The buildings are arranged in irregular patterns, blending seamlessly with the hillside landscape and ocean scenery. The British-style facade of the buildings, combined with the relaxing and comfortable style, creates a unique atmosphere that invites guests to unwind and enjoy their stay.

The second floor of the villa is composed of five double rooms, each with a different theme. The rooms are designed to not only allow guests to experience the beautiful scenery of Kenting, but also to feel the life of journey. The design makes the resort feel like home, with each room reflecting a different aspect of life and nature. For instance, one room features beautiful dragonfly patterns that correspond to the season when dragonflies fly every April, while another room is filled with books, symbolizing the rebirth of writing.

The ground floor houses a restaurant with a transparent buffet bar, designed with numerous French windows. This allows guests to enjoy their meals while appreciating the beautiful outdoor scenery. The bright daylight is introduced into the room, creating a warm and passionate atmosphere that enhances the dining experience.

The design of the "Sea of Fertility" was realized using a combination of white walls and red bricks, along with a delicate structure made of cornices, circular arch, and baluster. The lush plantings and palm trees add to the relaxing and comfortable style of the villa. The design project, which was completed in February 2016 in Pingtung County, Taiwan, covers an area of 500 square meters.

Chen-Chuan Tang's "Sea of Fertility" is a testament to the designer's innovative approach to interior design. The unique blend of British and Taiwanese design elements, along with the harmonious arrangement of the buildings and the thoughtful design of each room, creates a comfortable and relaxing environment that invites guests to unwind and enjoy their stay. The design, which won the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017, is a testament to Tang's innovative approach to interior design.
