The Yalda brooch is a stunning piece of jewelry that combines aesthetics with careful craftsmanship. Designed in 3D software, it is divided into separate parts to facilitate the polishing and casting process. Made from 18k rose gold and yellow gold, weighing 9.9 grams, this brooch showcases the designer's attention to detail and commitment to creating a high-quality piece.
Measuring 41.65mm in length, 24.97mm in width, and 14.31mm in height, the Yalda brooch is a testament to the designer's technical expertise. It features a beautiful ruby gemstone, weighing 0.3 carats, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the design.
One of the main challenges in creating the Yalda brooch was the casting and polishing process. The designer aimed to achieve a simple and organic shape without any distortion, allowing the brooch to showcase the natural elegance of a pomegranate. Through meticulous craftsmanship, this challenge was overcome, resulting in a brooch that is both visually stunning and true to its inspiration.
The Yalda brooch can be worn as a brooch or a pendant, adding versatility to its already impressive design. Its multifunctional nature allows individuals to express their personal style and wear it in a way that suits them best.
Designed in Tehran in February 2014, the Yalda brooch has been exhibited in group exhibitions at the University of Tehran in January 2016. Its unique design and cultural significance have garnered attention and recognition, earning it the Iron A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2017. This prestigious award is a testament to the brooch's well-designed, practical, and innovative qualities.
The Yalda brooch serves as a symbol of the Yalda night tradition, keeping this beautiful cultural practice alive and honoring the connection between humans and nature. By using gold as the main material, the designer not only pays tribute to the ancient tradition but also highlights the value and beauty that nature provides. The Yalda brooch is a celebration of tradition, nature, and the joy that comes with the arrival of winter and the promise of spring.
