Residence Design by Ming-Chuan Tai

The Order in Heterogeneity, a residence design by Ming-Chuan Tai, showcases a unique blend of Zen, neo-classic, and modernist styles. The design seamlessly integrates diverse materials and differentiates space scales to create a harmonious and consistent indoor environment. The entranceway features a black wooden-grille and a wooden-veneer wall, exuding a simple and low-profile atmosphere. Behind the wooden wall, a specially designed parents' room is hidden, adding to the segregation between different areas. The U-shape space at the entranceway introduces variations in space, enhancing the overall design.

One of the standout features of The Order in Heterogeneity is the balcony, offering breathtaking views and designed to resemble a small garden. The inclusion of plants and a pebble pathway creates a unique environment, reminiscent of a hanging garden. This outdoor space adds a touch of tranquility to the residence, allowing residents to enjoy the beauty of nature from the comfort of their own home.

The design of the TV wall in the living room creates a floating effect through the use of delicate grey-black marbles, wall cabinets with ironworks, and an elevated wooden floor. The wooden-grille wall serves a dual purpose, acting as both a partition and storage for audio and cable TV equipment. The design of the kitchen and God's table contributes to a well-scaled and symmetric space. Additionally, the exposed-concrete wall behind the couch in the living room adds a delicate quality not found in stones and planed timbers, creating a harmonious consistency throughout the space.

The Order in Heterogeneity spans 147 square meters and is located in Hsingchung City, adjacent to the mass rapid transit system and traditional business area. This tall mansion, rarely seen in the city center, offers a unique living experience with its great mechanisms for living and stunning metropolitan views.

Completed in May 2015 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, The Order in Heterogeneity is a testament to Ming-Chuan Tai's creative vision and attention to detail. The design combines elements from various styles to create a cohesive and visually striking living space. The personal space in the bedroom is adorned with shades of grey and black, including a grey fabric wall and artificial slate, creating a comfortable and pleasant living environment.

The Order in Heterogeneity was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2017. This prestigious award recognizes designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life. Ming-Chuan Tai's design showcases strong technical and creative skills, making it a worthy recipient of this accolade.
