The inspiration for 'Pun Riddles' came from the Sierra Fini Codex Reader Design, which led Zhao and Zhang to explore the intersection of surrealism and virtual design. Their goal was to compose visual clutter and create a space where the real and the virtual coexist, rendering a mysterious effect on the viewer's vision. The designers describe this as a world of "unknown abstraction, unknown language, unknown words, and logical ecological system."
The unique properties of 'Pun Riddles' lie in its ability to build an abstract world that is both surreal and virtual. The designers describe the work as a depiction of the creator's virtual world, set in an empty, indifferent, and calm infinite space. In this world, time and space spread, twist, and fall in a chaotic yet magnificent manner.
'Pun Riddles' was realized through image design, visual information design, and holography, resulting in a 1920pt*1080pt piece. This combination of technologies allowed the designers to effectively convey their vision of a surreal, fantastical world.
The design was created at the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts Exhibition Center in June 2016. It is a testament to the designers' innovative approach and their ability to push the boundaries of traditional design. Their work is a clear reflection of their commitment to exploring new forms of expression and challenging the status quo.
The Silver A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award that 'Pun Riddles' received in 2017 is a testament to the designers' creativity, technical expertise, and innovation. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate a high level of excellence and evoke positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
