Creating a Brand Image Inspired by Dopamine

Duobaan Hotel, designed by the renowned Dongdao Design Team, stands out with its captivating logo and VI design. Inspired by the Eastern philosophy and the concept of simplicity, this design showcases the strength of simplicity and complexity intertwined.

The designers at Dongdao Design Team aimed to create a brand image that evokes the feeling of happiness and enjoyment, similar to the sensation conveyed by dopamine. By using simple color blocks as the fundamental elements, they were able to construct a visually striking logo and VI design.

The irregular yet well-proportioned color blocks in the logo break away from the common overall appearance of the letter D, allowing for a designer's imagination to run wild. This infusion of colors embodies the high-end quality of the hotel, emphasizing a distinct sense of style and enriching the brand image.

Furthermore, the auxiliary graphics derived from the logo, consisting of black and white color blocks, create a rhythmic scene that provides ample space for future extensions and applications. The addition of other bright and simple colors further enhances the brand's versatility and youthfulness.

Depicting the richness of the brand, the designers at Dongdao Design Team successfully captured the essence of duobaan hotel through their innovative use of simple color blocks. The Duobaan Hotel project commenced in May 2015 in Beijing and was completed in October 2015 in the same city. Throughout the design process, the team conducted extensive research on dopamine, an organic chemical known for its role in generating happiness. By combining this research with visual elements that trigger happiness and enjoyment, they were able to create a design that truly resonates with guests.

This exceptional design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category in 2017. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit outstanding creativity and resourcefulness, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology.
