Agitation Between Movement: A Harmonious Clash of Design Styles

Chi-Ling Yeh and Chia-Sheng Jen's office design, named "Agitation Between Movement", is a testament to the power of thoughtful design. Inspired by the precise and definite plan of motion lines, the designers have created a space that ingeniously connects different working areas and distinct space mechanisms. The office, located in the core business area of metropolitan Taichung City, Taiwan, is bathed in natural light, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow throughout the day.

The design stands out for its unique blend of warm colors and industrial elements in Loft style. The office space is filled with a tender atmosphere, primarily presented by warm colors. The designers have brought into existence a working area that is both technologically advanced and human-centric. The space is filled with temperatures and stories, thanks to the integration of simple and rough industrial elements and the mixing of heterogeneous materials and objects.

Upon entering the office, one is greeted by a composed and comfortable main style, constituted by simple and neat lines, a grey-and-black slate wall, and wooden ceiling and floor. The geometric-style main wall, painted in mustard yellow, represents the company’s logo color. A contemporary-style sculpture next to the entrance demonstrates the courageous and innovative thoughts in the public area, creating a unique space effect through the conflict between two opposite atmospheres.

The office design was completed in February 2015, following the company spirits of "innovation, cooperation, and reunion". The design plan applied concepts such as innovation, invigoration, and diversification to the indoor space. The office design is a testament to the employer's care for the employees' benefits, aiming to create an office that integrates aesthetics, comfort, and pleasant elements.

The design faced the challenge of creating a unique atmosphere that would foster unlimited innovative imaginations among the employees. This was achieved by creating a combat between two distinct design styles, composed warm colors, and innovative industrial style. The result is an office space that is not just a place to work, but a space that inspires and nurtures creativity.

The "Agitation Between Movement" design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017. The award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The designs are admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
