Unveiling "Che Palle": A Sculptural Armchair by Anacleto Spazzapan

Award-winning design combines art and functionality in a unique metal masterpiece

Discover the "Che Palle", an innovative armchair design by Anacleto Spazzapan. This unique piece, inspired by a 3000-year-old civilization and crafted in Indonesia, merges art, design, and functionality in a way that challenges traditional furniture concepts.

Anacleto Spazzapan, a craftsman and merchant born in 1943, began his journey in Indonesia. There, he discovered the remnants of an ancient civilization in Java, which served as the inspiration for his unique furniture and design collection. This exploration led Spazzapan to a new challenge: creating everyday item prototypes out of steel rod. The result was a furniture collection with strong aesthetic and functional properties.

The "Che Palle" armchair is a standout piece in Spazzapan's collection. Composed of 18 spherical elements assembled together, this armchair is a true sculpture made entirely by a 3mm metal rod cut and welded by hand, piece by piece. The production of this armchair started in 2006 in Bali and took more than four months to complete.

The unique properties of the "Che Palle" armchair set it apart from other designs. The hardest part of the production was connecting the spheres to achieve the right posture. Despite the challenges, the result is a unique piece that commands attention and serves as a functional piece of art.

The armchair's color was applied in Italy by a professional painter using epoxy powder, making it suitable for outdoor use. This attention to detail and commitment to quality is a testament to Spazzapan's dedication to his craft.

The "Che Palle" armchair has been recognized for its innovative design and exceptional craftsmanship. In 2017, it was awarded the Silver A' Furniture Design Award, a prestigious accolade given to designs that showcase outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill.

In conclusion, the "Che Palle" armchair by Anacleto Spazzapan is a testament to the power of design and the potential of everyday materials. Its unique structure, aesthetic appeal, and functional properties make it a standout piece in any setting, proving that furniture can indeed be a work of art.
