The project takes its name from a Hong Kong movie about chasing dreams, symbolizing youth, vitality, mutual-aid, and ambition. The designers embraced the concept of a container and incorporated industrial elements such as cement, handmade decorative tile, white cement brick, and black iron to create an office space that exudes creativity and enjoyment.
The highlight of the 6th Floor Rear Flat is a wall painting featuring a big smile, reminding everyone to embrace life with a positive attitude. This playful element sets the tone for the entire space, making it a welcoming and inspiring environment.
The office space is divided into three separate working areas and a public leisure space, fostering a sense of community among young entrepreneurs. The owner subleases these spaces, encouraging collaboration, sharing of ideas, and forming a dynamic and passionate community of entrepreneurs.
The design team faced the challenge of cost control while creating distinct spaces within a limited frame. By minimizing the use of walls and considering future expansion, they ensured flexibility and adaptability for future changes.
Completed in 2015 in Foshan, Guangdong, China, the 6th Floor Rear Flat has received recognition for its innovative design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2017 for its outstanding creativity and resourcefulness in interior space, retail, and exhibition design.
The 6th Floor Rear Flat is a testament to the power of design in creating a vibrant and interactive workspace. It not only encourages communication and collaboration but also inspires individuals to pursue their dreams with enthusiasm and a smile.
