Liam Martens' inspiration for The Screeners came from his love for movies and the desire to share his experiences. He noticed that existing movie review websites lacked a distinctive appeal, prompting him to create a platform that was both visually appealing and user-friendly. The Screeners is designed with a minimalist approach, using large images to attract users and keeping the homepage clutter-free. This simplicity extends throughout the site, making it a refreshing change from the typically crowded and complex movie review websites.

The Screeners is built using basic front-end technologies like CSS and HTML, making it a straightforward yet effective design. It is responsive and adaptable to various screen sizes, ensuring a seamless user experience across different devices. The website's navigation is intuitive, presenting users with the most recent reviews upon landing and offering easy access to all reviews, search functionality, and additional options.

The project began on January 3, 2016, and continues to evolve. The design process involved extensive research, including studying other movie review websites, identifying their shortcomings, and finding ways to improve upon them. One of the major challenges in designing The Screeners was adding a unique personality to each review without designing a completely different page for each movie. The solution was a custom color scheme for each movie, which is easy to manage and adds a distinctive touch to each review. This innovative approach has significantly contributed to the website's unique appeal.

The Screeners' design philosophy is centered on providing a pleasing, simple, and usable experience for users.
