KGI Bank: Redefining the Digital Banking Experience

Award-winning Website Redesign by Frog Singapore

Informative yet minimalistic. Professional yet dynamic. This is how the team at Frog Singapore began reimagining what a bank website should look like. With their redesign of KGI Bank's website, they aimed to unify the corporate and retail experience, creating a site that is nimble, simple, and smart.

The KGI Bank website redesign goes beyond being a platform for easy information. It is about truly connecting with customers at every interaction. The team at Frog Singapore wanted to take customers on a journey, helping them easily discover what they are looking for while emotionally engaging them through surprising micro animations that reinvent the common interaction.

The user interface of the website was meticulously designed using Figma, ensuring a responsive mobile and desktop UI/UX design. The goal was to create an engaging website that not only provides a seamless user experience but also enhances the discoverability of information.

One of the challenges faced during the redesign was showcasing information about four different subsidiaries in one site. The team had to find the right balance between providing enough context for customers while ensuring ease of use. They focused on enhancing navigation to the different subsidiary sections with subtle guidance for easy discovery.

The KGI Bank website is designed to make customers feel relaxed and in control. The simplified visual concept allows customers to slowly uncover the different facets of the bank, layer by layer. Strategically placed calls-to-action and easy access to commonly used tools are always nearby, encouraging customers to take their next step.

The website redesign project was a collaborative effort between team members from Frog Singapore, Shanghai, and Taiwan. Over a period of 9 weeks, from July to September 2021, the team worked together to create a digital companion for KGI Bank customers.

The KGI Bank website redesign has been recognized for its excellence in design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Website and Web Design category in 2022. This award acknowledges the website's well-designed, practical, and innovative features that meet professional and industrial requirements. The redesign integrates industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, providing fulfillment and positive experiences for users.

With the KGI Bank website redesign, Frog Singapore has successfully redefined the digital banking experience, creating a platform that is informative, engaging, and user-friendly. This project showcases the team's expertise in user experience, user interface design, and design system development.
