Quadrant Limitations stands out from other residential designs due to its unique properties. Tang, chung-han strategically incorporates various objects throughout the space, such as screening shelves in the foyer, cabinets behind the sofa, a dining table island, and a wall mass. These objects not only serve functional purposes but also reconnect the relations between different areas, recombining horizontal and vertical planes to create a cohesive and harmonious environment.
Light plays a crucial role in expressing the pure textures of materials within Quadrant Limitations. Clean linear light sources define the solid mass framework, imbuing transparency to the overall perspective. This interplay of light and shadows extends and heightens the space, metaphorically representing the dimensional quadrants that exist within the design.
Quadrant Limitations also celebrates the presence of people within the space. The design embraces the use of textures, creating a tactile experience that engages the senses. By incorporating different materials and finishes, Tang, chung-han adds depth and character to each area, making the design come alive.
This exceptional residential design has not gone unnoticed. Quadrant Limitations was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2017 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious accolade recognizes the outstanding creativity and resourcefulness demonstrated by Tang, chung-han. By incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology, Quadrant Limitations contributes to improving the quality of life and making the world a better place.
Quadrant Limitations is a testament to Tang, chung-han's innovative approach to residential design. By challenging the limitations of traditional architecture and redefining the relationship between people and their living spaces, this project sets a new standard for intimate and engaging residential environments.
