Patrionet: A Revolutionary Router for Smart Homes

Designed by Mohammad Mahdy Seyfi and Hesamaldin Ghasimi, Patrionet Merges Functionality with Aesthetics

The designers have ingeniously incorporated the form of the ancient galea into the design of Patrionet. This router, unlike conventional ones, is capable of cloud storage and information processing. The special design of the antenna and cooling system not only ensures high efficiency but also makes it a beautiful decorative element.

The body of the device is made of transparent polycarbonate, while the antenna and fans are made of casting metal with gold foil. The parts of processors, routers, and disk are located in a similar metal covering with sharp edges, which facilitates high thermal exchange. The device measures 250 mm x 250 mm x 350 mm.

Patrionet operates with a simple touch of the antenna. The light bars in the center light up, and the device begins to control the vast world of information, offering users a new experience of the virtual world. This router was designed in January 2017 in Tehran, Iran.

The design process involved a thorough investigation to find an appropriate form to revive the identity of digital devices. The designers found the galea to be the best source for this identity. The challenge was to synchronize the router's performance features with the galea form, a challenge that was successfully overcome.

Patrionet has been recognized for its innovative design and functionality. It was awarded Silver in A' Digital and Electronic Device Design Award in 2017. This award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
