The 'Infinite Series' is a testament to the innovative spirit of SoomeenHahm Design. The inspiration for this design came from the idea of continuity. The patterns and shapes were generated by a computational dynamic design system to create a 3D continuous loop. This design approach sets the 'Infinite Series' apart from conventional ring designs.
Each ring in the series features several continuous stream or seam lines that flow over the entire ring, from front to back, from inside and outside, folded and overlaid. This intricate design provides the viewer with a unique visual experience, allowing them to follow the continuous loop in three dimensions. This is an experience that cannot be replicated in 2D spaces.
The realization of this design was achieved through wax printing and casting in matte black steel. The technical specifications of the rings vary, with sizes ranging from 20 x 45 x 28 mm to 24 x 80 x 30 mm. The project was developed in 2016 and 2017 in London.
One of the biggest challenges in creating the 'Infinite Series' was generating a continuous loop within 3D software techniques. Several prototypes were created before the final design was achieved, which clearly showcases the stream or seam lines.
The 'Infinite Series' has been recognized for its innovative design and technical excellence. In 2018, it was awarded Silver in the A' Jewelry, Eyewear and Watch Design Award. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill.
SoomeenHahm Design's 'Infinite Series' is a remarkable achievement in jewelry design. It pushes the boundaries of traditional design and offers a unique, 3D visual experience. Its success is a testament to the power of innovation and the endless possibilities of design.
