Chih-Chieh Tien and Jung-Chen Hsieh have created a unique interior design called "Cold and Warm" that combines Nordic and LOFT styles to create a space that showcases both warm and cold characteristics. The design aims to harmoniously present the beauty of frigidness and heat, creating a visually stunning and comfortable environment.
The two-room indoor space is furnished with a public area, which enlarges the entire space and creates a sense of openness. To mitigate the cold atmosphere typically associated with LOFT style, the designers have incorporated soft colors and logs, adding warmth and coziness to the space.
The living room has been transformed into a wonderful audio and entertaining area, featuring 3-D wall art, a sound-proof ceiling, and modern-style furniture and lamps. These elements of design bring the cold and warm visual effects into accordance, creating a harmonious and inviting atmosphere. The same design principles are applied to the dining room and kitchen, where the designers have used contrasting styles, such as a grey wall and vivid colors, to create a unique and visually striking space.
The design also includes unique features such as a barn door next to the kitchen, which adds an exotic touch to the space. Additionally, culture-stone-style wallpapers and wooden ceilings create a comfortable and relaxing ambiance. In the bathroom, colorful walls and mosaic floors add a sense of fun and playfulness to the design.
This high-grade mansion spans 160 square meters and was completed in May 2016 in Hsinchu County, Taiwan. The design team, consisting of Chih-Chieh Tien and Jung-Chen Hsieh, successfully overcame creative and technical challenges to bring their vision to life.
"Cold and Warm" has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2018. This award is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate exceptional technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.
