The inspiration for this design came from the house owner, a former fashion magazine editor who wanted a home that would provide beautiful park views while allowing for a comfortable reading experience. BeingDesign took this vision and transformed it into a reality, creating a space that not only meets the owner's needs but also showcases the unique strengths of the design.
The original house construction consisted of four rooms with two living spaces, which limited the amount of natural light that could enter the space. BeingDesign addressed this challenge by reimagining the overall space in the X and Y axis, with each axial dimension serving a different purpose. The X axis focuses on the interaction between space and people, with the TV wall and kitchen island acting as visual focal points. On the other hand, the Y axis emphasizes the connection between space and nature, introducing natural lighting and green elements into the room.
Through careful analysis of the axial lines, BeingDesign created an independent mass by dividing the TV wall and structural wall. This allowed for the introduction of cozy natural lighting into the space, enhancing the overall ambiance. Additionally, the integration of the work zone and dining table provides the owner with the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful views outside the window while staying connected to nature.
With a total area of 100m2, the reallocation of movement within the space was crucial in meeting the spatial requirements of all family members. Each bedroom is surrounded by a buffer space that maximizes storage functionality. The result is a well-designed and functional space that caters to the needs of the occupants.
The Linkou Z House project started in May 2017 and was completed in October 2017 in the Linkou district of Taiwan. Throughout the design process, BeingDesign conducted extensive research to ensure that every aspect of the space was carefully considered. The use of imported rock-patterned system boards and wooden grilles adds depth and visual interest to the design, while also highlighting the spatial level.
This exceptional design has not gone unnoticed. The Linkou Z House was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2018 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that are well-designed, practical, and innovative, meeting professional and industrial requirements.
Linkou Z House is a testament to BeingDesign's commitment to creating unique and harmonious spaces that blend design, functionality, and nature. With its thoughtful approach and attention to detail, this residential space stands as a true work of art.
