Muqarnas was born out of the need for sustainable and economical building systems that cater to spaces requiring both sound control and lighting. What sets Muqarnas apart from other designs is its dual functionality. Unlike traditional acoustic panels, Muqarnas integrates lighting, eliminating the need for separate expenses for acoustic regulation and lighting. This results in three times more performance and illuminated surfaces compared to ordinary acoustic panels. The system's sub-construction allows for the modules to be arranged in any desired composite, further enhancing its versatility.

The technology behind Muqarnas is simple yet effective. All elements of the design can be produced using existing molded systems, making it compatible with standard materials and tools. This means that no special methods or techniques are required for its production or application. The design can be used in a variety of indoor spaces, from nightclubs to offices, providing an economical and aesthetically pleasing solution for acoustic treatment and lighting enhancement.

The design specifications of Muqarnas are also noteworthy. The modules, measuring approximately 30 x 30 x 8 centimeters, are packaged unassembled in a flat box in accordance with international transport standards. This efficient packaging eliminates the need for manufacturers and sellers to reflect transport, storage, or installation costs to users.

Interacting with Muqarnas is straightforward. Mounting profiles are first fixed at regular intervals to the wall surface. Standard insulation materials are placed between these profiles to enhance acoustic performance. Lighting devices and cables are placed in the holes in the profiles. Once the electrical installation is complete, the modules are attached to the surface in any desired combination. The surfaces of the modules are covered with fabric, making them both light passable and voice absorptive.
