Hangzhou West Lake Yangminggu

Club Design by Yu Chao and Guanghui Zeng

The collision of art and space often creates the avant-garde inspiration of design. Hangzhou West Lake Yangminggu, designed by Yu Chao and Guanghui Zeng, is a project that embraces nature and showcases the consistency of consciousness between human beings and the natural world. With its gently wavy lines and a harmonious blend of refined design languages and the power of modern civilization, this project shines with a captivating allure.

Taking modern art as its theme, Hangzhou West Lake Yangminggu seamlessly integrates avant-garde installations with the space, creating an atmosphere that combines elegance with the aesthetics of modern people. It exudes a sense of detachment from vanity and a regular beauty found in nature. One of the standout features of this design is the large installation of artistic ornaments called Galaxy Order. These ornaments resemble white waves and layers of sea clouds, radiating endless and boundless brightness, akin to the dazzling Milky Way band.

The realization of Hangzhou West Lake Yangminggu involves the use of special materials such as ocean blue marble and ice jade marble. These materials contribute to the project's unique visual appeal and create a sense of luxury and sophistication.

Covering an area of 1758 square meters, Hangzhou West Lake Yangminggu serves both as a sales office and a club. The sales office provides customers with a comprehensive understanding of the newly constructed buildings and houses. Visitors can view the overall construction plan and consult with sales managers. The club facilities, including a gym, cater to the residents' recreational needs.

Located in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China, the Hangzhou West Lake Yangminggu project took approximately 12 months to complete. Extensive research was conducted to ensure that the design harmonizes with the geographical conditions and architectural features of the surrounding area, which includes the nearby West Lake and long-standing villas.

One of the notable challenges faced during the creation of this design was the large installation art ornament, Galaxy Order, consisting of approximately 70,000 prismatic pearls. The intricate design, production, and installation of this ornament required meticulous attention to detail and expertise.

Hangzhou West Lake Yangminggu redefines the connection between residence, environment, people, society, and the city. Its circular spatial structure and open layout encourage flexible activities and invite people to contemplate the future lifestyle of the younger generation in China. This project, with its exploration of art in a boundless space, offers a glimpse into the possibilities of a harmonious and dynamic living environment.

Hangzhou West Lake Yangminggu has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology. Hangzhou West Lake Yangminggu contributes to quality of life improvements, making the world a better place.
