Most login interfaces of dashboards fail to establish emotional connections with users. To address this, the team adopted design thinking and methods traditionally applied to ToC products. They used an illustration that describes a realistic user scenario, aiming to bridge the gap between users and the product, and fulfill their emotional requirements.
The team used Illustrator and Vue to realize their design. The left part of the login page features an image that accounts for 60% of the total width, approximately 800px. They also incorporated a parallax effect to make the illustration more dynamic, interesting, and special.
The project, which began in May 2018, involved extensive research. The team collected illustrations from competing products and the internet industry, analyzed and classified the color schemes and characters of illustrations, and voted for the style of everyone's intentions. Through constant adjustments and trials, they were able to form the final style of their products.
The most challenging part of the project was the illustrator style positioning. The team aimed to create a clear difference from the illustration style on the market while ensuring that this style could be accepted by the public. Despite these challenges, their efforts paid off when the design was awarded the Golden A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award in 2019.
Through their innovative design approach, Jovi Xu and his team have successfully revolutionized the traditional back-end products, adding a story of hand-drawn illustrations in the traditional background user interfaces. Their work serves as an inspiration for others in the field, demonstrating how design can be used to create a more engaging and emotionally resonant user experience.
