Ptaha Furniture: A Minimalist Branding and Corporate Identity

Creating a Unique Identity Inspired by Scandinavian Aesthetics

The inspiration for branding and corporate identity was taken from Scandinavian aesthetics of minimalism and nature. The main idea of the brand was focused on the natural elements like hard metals, bronze, solid wood, stone and was united in this brand - its colors, form and other design elements.

Ptaha Furniture, a young brand of contemporary furniture designed and produced in Europe, has recently unveiled its unique branding and corporate identity. Designed by Roman Vynogradnyi, the brand identity reflects the latest trends, modern style, and the brand's philosophy.

The main element of the logo is a stylized bird, symbolizing the brand name "Ptaha" which translates from Ukrainian. This logo captures the essence of the brand and its connection to nature. The brand's multinational team in Munich (Germany) and Kyiv (Ukraine) worked together to create a cohesive identity that represents Ptaha's modern and innovative approach to furniture design.

The brand identity includes various elements such as business cards, letterheads, envelopes, marketing collateral, and a catalog. Special techniques, including bronze foil embossing, were used to create a luxurious and sophisticated look for these materials.

During the design process, Roman Vynogradnyi explored multiple drafts and selected the best options. After presenting three final options to the client, they collectively chose a logo that perfectly embodies the spirit of the brand. The entire design project took four months to complete and was based in Kyiv, Ukraine.

One of the main challenges faced during the design process was creating a brand identity that stands out from competitors while maintaining a modern and unique look. By drawing inspiration from Scandinavian aesthetics and incorporating natural elements, Ptaha Furniture successfully achieved a distinctive and memorable brand identity.

The Ptaha Furniture brand identity, designed by Roman Vynogradnyi, has been recognized for its excellence. In 2018, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life through art, science, design, and technology.
