Blue Fantasy: A Unique Residential House Design

Reimagining Space and Style

The house design plan, originally constrained by a small living room and bathroom, has been reconstructed to create a central entryway surrounded by five distinct areas: the bathroom, kitchen and dining room, living room, bedroom, and study room. This innovative layout maximizes space and creates a harmonious flow throughout the house.

One of the standout features of Blue Fantasy is the extensive living room, which immediately catches the eye upon entering the house. The entryway and living room are cleverly furnished with two doors, behind which lie the hidden dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. This design choice expands the visual scale from the entryway to the living room, creating a sense of spaciousness and grandeur.

The Blue Fantasy design stands out with its unique use of color. The main color tone is a captivating blue, complemented by brown wooden veneers that add a touch of British yuppie style. The living room is adorned with a recessed, vivid blue wall, which showcases the characteristics of the living space. This bold color choice adds vibrancy and personality to the design.

With a space of 50 square meters, Blue Fantasy demonstrates the designer's skill in combining style and functionality. The design is fitting, pragmatic, neat, and delicate, showcasing a thoughtful approach to creating a comfortable and visually appealing living environment.

The Blue Fantasy design project was completed in January 2018 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. The designer, Hsuan-Chih Chou, and the design team members, CHOU, HSUAN-CHIH and WEI, WEN-PEI, worked diligently to overcome creative and technical challenges and bring this unique design to life.

Blue Fantasy has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This prestigious award honors designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life through art, science, design, and technology.
