Far Line: A New Era in Corporate Headquarters Design

Ling Zhou's Award-Winning Design Merges Functionality, Beauty, and Innovation

Ling Zhou's design inspiration stems from the question: "What kind of space can make one enjoy beauty, and what kind of office can make their work happy?" The answer to this question led to the creation of a space that encourages interaction with nature, light, and shadow, thereby fostering a deeper dialogue between individuals and their surroundings.

Far Line's uniqueness lies in its ability to transport individuals to a different era. The rust-stained iron-sheet door-to-door model of the film and television company, coupled with the company's development process displayed on the wall, silently invites visitors to reflect on the past. This design feature sets Far Line apart from conventional corporate spaces.

The design realization of Far Line is a testament to Ling Zhou's innovative approach. Coarse-embryo concrete, used as the top tone, combined with a staircase constructed of pure iron, leads the view to the second floor. This design defines the private office space by frame shape and shapes another level of space by penetrating the line of sight and blurring the flow of light.

Despite the challenge of the limited space area, Ling Zhou successfully partitioned the 210 square meters project area. The design interacts with the space, completing the reconstruction of the whole space with a simple method of space partition. This approach showcases the designer's ability to create functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces, regardless of size limitations.

Far Line project, which began in Chongqing in December 2018 and was completed in January 2019, is a testament to Ling Zhou's commitment to design that aligns with modern office characteristics. The design returns to the essence of space, creating an intimate, easy-to-accept, and non-high-profile space.
