I Never Use Foundation Breakfast Club: A Fresh and Vibrant Retail Design

Creating a Youthful and Nature-inspired Shopping Experience

To be in line with the youthfulness of INUF, CTRC Design Consultant Ltd. has created a young and fresh feeling in the store design. INUF is a brand that promotes all-natural products, targeting young and health-conscious female customers who prioritize quality of life. The design incorporates wood colors to create a sense of comfort, while different shades of green and red highlight the brand's natural and feminine side, giving it a vibrant feeling.

Bright colors are strategically used to divide the different areas of the store, providing customers with a sense of exploration and positivity as they move through the space. Upon stepping out of the elevator, customers are greeted by a light green box, where the brand's concept is displayed at the end of the wall. Looking through the glass windows into the store, they are met with a relatively wide and spacious area, creating an amusing contrast with the narrow entrance.

The checkout counter, designed with simplicity in mind, features a white marble top in the form of a box. A pink curved shape decorates the cash register, echoing the display stand on the opposite side. The treatment area, accessed via a deep red staircase, utilizes white color and simple color lines to enhance the interior design effect. The space is kept relatively small, allowing for enough spacing to avoid any feelings of oppression and to create a comfortable atmosphere.

The washroom design follows a similar theme of simplicity and beauty. A small wooden box is placed inside a white box, creating a cozy feeling. At the end of the corridor, a small dressing room is situated in front of a floor-to-ceiling glass window, offering a stunning view. The washroom itself features white marble stone tables paired with golden mirrors, adding an exquisite and beautiful touch to the space.

Linear lines with high contrast of color usage are the key design elements in this project. Visually, this maximizes the use of the high ceiling and reduces the disadvantage of the narrow space. The proportion of glass windows is maximized, allowing sunlight to flood the space and providing customers with a pleasant view.

Located in Hong Kong, the I Never Use Foundation Breakfast Club project started in January 2018 and was completed in July 2018. The design team, consisting of Ryan Cheung and Christine Tsui from CTRC Design Consultant Ltd., faced the challenge of creating a sense of space and avoiding feelings of oppression in the limited area of Hong Kong, known for its density.

This innovative retail design for INUF has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019. The award acknowledges designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and technical and creative skills. By incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology, this design contributes to improving the quality of life and making the world a better place.
