Tranquil Aesthetics Residence: A New Oriental Haven

A Unique Blend of Minimalism and Artistic Expression

Inspired by a love for arts and crafts, Lin-Chang Man, the renowned designer behind Tranquil Aesthetics Residence, has created a stunning residential villa that seamlessly blends minimalist aesthetics with a touch of the New Oriental. This unique design not only showcases the homeowner's art collection but also provides a serene and cheerful atmosphere for everyday living.

In response to the homeowner's desire for clearly defined public and private spaces, the design team implemented a "hidden door" concept, effectively dividing the living areas while maintaining visual tidiness and beauty. By infusing the dwelling with New Oriental elements, the homeowner's passion for art and craftsmanship is seamlessly integrated into the overall design, creating a truly harmonious living space.

One standout feature of Tranquil Aesthetics Residence is the island bar, which serves as a place for relaxation, work, and enjoying the panoramic views. The display cabinets within the house are filled with art collections, creating a visual feast for both the homeowner and guests.

The design specifications of this project include a large ink-view wall, created by mixing colored ore powder with cement to achieve a natural charm. In the public areas, dark tones define the natural field, while the living room floor is made of island-type wooden flooring suitable for Taiwan's climate. The cabinets feature all-wood veneer steel brushes, seamlessly connecting the marble and custom-made iron pieces, creating a cohesive and visually appealing space.

Tranquil Aesthetics Residence is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional. The design incorporates elastic function elements, providing convenience and flexibility for daily use. The overall atmosphere exudes a sense of nature and relaxation, making every homecoming a truly enjoyable experience.

This project, located in northern Taiwan, was completed between January 2018 and October 2018. Extensive research went into the design process, with a focus on utilizing the TV wall as the main axis to shape the open field and maximize natural lighting. The triangular relationship between the guest restaurant and island area allows for emotional interaction and adds flexibility to the space.

One of the design challenges faced by the team was creating a lasting impression in the entrance foyer. To achieve this, they crafted a lightweight clay sculpture, forming a pure and artistic scene. The ink landscape wall, adorned with lined ore powder, adds an elegant touch inspired by Japanese aesthetics.

Tranquil Aesthetics Residence, designed by Lin-Chang Man and his team at DAMAN Interior Design Co., Ltd, has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2019. This award recognizes the outstanding creativity and resourcefulness exhibited in the design, which seamlessly incorporates art, science, and technology to enhance the quality of life.
