Located on the picturesque island of Corfu, Korypho Villas offer a one-of-a-kind experience for discerning travelers. To differentiate the brand in a competitive market, Yorgos Panagopoulos drew inspiration from the island's Italian occupation and its renowned Easter tradition of breaking clay pots. The result is a visually striking logo that combines a shield, representing the Italian heritage, with a clay pot, symbolizing the Corfian traditions.
Going beyond the logo, a series of illustrations were developed to create variety and communicate the rich experience that the owners of Korypho Villas aim to provide. These illustrations, presented in an abstract manner, add warmth, humor, and elegance to the brand identity, keeping it playful yet sophisticated.
The attention to detail and care that goes into every aspect of the visitor's experience is reflected in the bespoke collateral produced for Korypho Villas. The use of printing techniques such as foil and blind embossing further emphasizes the luxurious nature of the brand. From envelopes and business cards to presentation folders and with compliments cards, each piece of collateral showcases the brand's commitment to excellence.
One of the key challenges in this project was effectively positioning Korypho Villas in a competitive market while differentiating it from the competition. Through extensive research, both online and by visiting the island, the design team uncovered the unique elements that set Corfu apart. The influences of Italian occupation informed every design decision, from the carefully chosen color palette to the selection of typefaces and art direction.
The project, which started in February 2018 and concluded in December 2018, successfully captured the spirit of Korypho Villas and the natural environment that surrounds them. The brand identity is not only visually different from other offerings in Greek hospitality but also culturally relevant, paying homage to the island's history and traditions.
Recognized for its outstanding creativity and ingenuity, the brand identity for Korypho Villas was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills while contributing to quality of life improvements. The brand identity for Korypho Villas truly captures the essence of luxury and tradition, making it a standout in the world of hospitality.
