The Ladder Chair, designed by KIDS DESIGN LABO, is a versatile piece of furniture that serves as a bridge between children and adults. With its adjustable height, both children and adults can comfortably use this chair. The designers at KIDS DESIGN LABO believe that what children see, touch, and feel in their early stages of development should be well-designed and genuine.

The Ladder Chair is not just a chair; it is a ladder that symbolizes growth. By climbing up the ladder, children are encouraged to grow and develop. Additionally, the chair can be used as a functional ladder to reach higher places. Its multi-functional design adds value and versatility to any space.

Unlike most children's furniture that uses synthetic resin or artificial paintings, the Ladder Chair is made solely from natural wood with natural oil painting. While wood may be more sensitive and prone to scratching, it is important for children to learn how to appreciate and care for genuine materials. The chair retains the natural color, texture, and pattern of the wood, enhancing its aesthetic appeal.

The Ladder Chair has 11 adjustable levels, with each level changing the height by 4cm. There are four levels for the sitting board and seven levels for the foot board, allowing for easy adjustment as children grow. To change the level, simply loosen the screw of the black steel bar, adjust the board, and then fasten the screw to ensure stability. This feature enables even babies to sit on the chair independently and enjoy meals with their parents.

KIDS DESIGN LABO is an affiliated company of HIBINOSEKKEI + Youji no Shiro, an architecture design office specializing in kindergartens and nurseries. With their extensive experience in designing for children, KIDS DESIGN LABO brings their expertise to the public with this innovative chair.

The Ladder Chair presents unique challenges due to its use of natural wood. While wood is prone to scratching and can be difficult to clean, these characteristics are not seen as negatives. Unlike plastic products that cannot be repaired once broken or scratched, wood furniture can be easily cleaned and maintained with sandpaper and oil. By involving children in the maintenance of the furniture, they learn the value of genuine materials and develop a sense of responsibility in caring for their belongings.
