Cloud End: A Stunning Sales Center Design by Jia-Ru Chen

Creating a Unique and Aesthetically Pleasing Space

The Cloud End sales center stands out with its unique design and innovative features. The building's original triangular shape has been widened to enhance its aesthetic appeal. The asymmetrical forms within the symmetrical building volume showcase the designer's creativity, while the large French windows serve as ideal display windows, attracting passersby to take a break and explore the space.

One of the standout features of the Cloud End design is the wooden wavy ceiling in the ground floor space, which represents a vast sea of clouds. The dynamic posture of the ceiling adds rhythm to the space, and the aesthetical wood patterns are achieved using calcium silicate dye instead of veneer. This technique allows the patterns to seamlessly blend with the surrounding pale-colored veneer, creating a unique texture in the three-dimensional space.

The Cloud End sales center spans 294 square meters and is located in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The project was completed in December 2016.

Jia-Ru Chen and the design team faced several challenges while creating the Cloud End sales center. They aimed to create a tranquil atmosphere by using non-chromatic grey tones complemented by pale wooden colors throughout the venue. The space is divided into different areas using material implications, with the prototype display area and reception counter at the entrance and the discussion area on the right.

The design of the Cloud End sales center was recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit outstanding creativity and resourcefulness. The Cloud End design showcases strong technical and creative skills, contributing to an improved quality of life and making the world a better place.
