Soho: A Hotel Interior Design Inspired by Art

Bringing Five Artistic Styles to Life

The space in this building includes five different styles, which interpret the colorful Sylvie Fleury, the multicultural art deco, the social warnings by Banksy, the quiet and gentle Giorgio Morandi, and the black representative Pierre Soulages. They use their art pieces to describe how the art belongs to life, and we paved the space as a story's preface, to accompany people to write a new chapter about art in life.

Soho, a hotel interior design project by Chia-Chi Kuo, is redefining the concept of art and culture in residential spaces. This unique design brings together five distinct artistic styles, each telling a complete story and creating a new world of cultural exchanges.

The inspiration for Soho comes from the belief that art is an integral part of life. The designers have carefully selected five different styles to represent the diverse range of emotions and experiences that art encompasses. From the vibrant and colorful works of Sylvie Fleury to the thought-provoking social commentary of Banksy, each style adds its own unique flavor to the space.

What sets Soho apart is its ability to seamlessly integrate these artistic styles into the hotel's interior design. The designers have used a combination of street art colors and materials such as tires, neon lights, masonry, and iron pipes to create a visually stunning and immersive experience. Each floor of the hotel has been meticulously designed to reflect a different artistic style, allowing guests to have a new and exciting experience on every level.

On the second floor, color lines and geometric figures adorn every corner, creating a playful and dynamic atmosphere. The fourth floor integrates the walls into a color canvas, bringing Giorgio Morandi's color concept to life. The fifth floor combines bricks, metal pipes, iron nets, and other street culture elements to create a residence that seamlessly blends street culture and art.

The design process for Soho was not without its challenges. Integrating culture and art with residential design required a deep understanding of the needs and preferences of the residents. The designers had to study the characteristic elements of each art and culture style and incorporate them into the design while ensuring the space remained functional and comfortable for the residents.

Despite the challenges, the result is a truly unique and captivating hotel interior design that pushes the boundaries of art and culture in residential spaces. Soho has been recognized for its outstanding creativity and ingenuity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that incorporate best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to improvements in quality of life.

Located in Taipei City, Taiwan, Soho is not just a hotel but a living testament to the power of art and design. It invites guests to immerse themselves in a world where art and culture are seamlessly integrated into everyday life, creating a truly unforgettable experience.
