Revolutionizing Screwdriver Design: The Right Angle Innovation

Qian Xiaowei and Ye Xinmin's Award-Winning Design Offers a New Approach to Screwdriver Functionality

With a unique design inspired by the challenges of working with screws near facades, Qian Xiaowei and Ye Xinmin have developed a right angle screwdriver that not only simplifies the task but also offers a labor-saving solution. This innovative design, which won the Silver A' Hardware, Power and Hand Tools Design Award in 2019, is set to revolutionize the way we use screwdrivers.

The right angle screwdriver was born out of the need to address the difficulty often encountered when turning screws, especially those near facades. The designers developed a structure that changes the arm of force, achieving a labor-saving effect and meeting the requirements for installing and disassembling screws near facades. The screwdriver head is designed for general use and is easy to replace, catering to most screw types. The design is simple, fashionable, and convenient to carry.

What sets the right angle screwdriver apart from traditional designs is its ability to extend the arm of force through handle buckling, solving the problem of installing and disassembling screws near the facade. The handle, designed as a hexagonal prism in accordance with human body engineering, makes force application more convenient. The two-part handle can realize straight line splicing and right angle splicing, changing the length of the arm of force and meeting the requirements of screw installation in different positions.

The handle of the screwdriver can be altered in a 90-degree angle and fixed by a neck. The lower end of the handle is inclined at a 45-degree angle, and the two parts are connected and fixed by the internal neck to realize straight line splicing and right angle splicing. This innovative design allows for changes in the length of the arm of force and meets the requirements of screw installation in different positions.

The screwdriver, with dimensions of 145mm*13mm*13 mm, is mainly made by aluminum alloy die casting, partially with CNC engraving. The design team, which includes Qian Xiaowei, Ye Xinmin, Shi Xiaoming, Qiu Liwei, Shao Jian, Jiang Lei, and Zhang Yuhe, worked tirelessly to overcome the challenge of changing the arm of force by means of the handle.

The right angle screwdriver offers a solution to the laborious task of installing tight screws and the difficulty of working with screws near corners or facades. The handle can be spliced into a right angle shape for convenient operation, meeting the requirements of operations and the needs in special circumstances. The screwdriver bits can be replaced according to different screws, and the package is light and easy to carry.

In conclusion, the right angle screwdriver by Qian Xiaowei and Ye Xinmin is a testament to the power of innovative design in solving everyday challenges. With its unique features and award-winning design, it is set to change the way we use screwdrivers, making the task more efficient and less laborious.
