The Papaveri-Fioriture Collection was born out of a challenge to create products that could breathe life into unique environments where nature reigns supreme. The designers aimed to create indoor spaces that evoke the vibrancy and energy of the outdoors. The result is a collection that offers a sense of familiarity and comfort, reflecting the natural elements from which it draws inspiration.
The collection features a table with seven leaves that expand and multiply its dimensions, reminiscent of a field of flowers under a clear blue sky. It's a design where poppies can literally be gathered, a surprise gift that amazes the observer. The table is not just a piece of furniture, but an art installation that brings a touch of the outdoors inside.
The table is crafted with smoked extra-clear laminated shaped glass top, decorated with sandblasting, Trilli Effect (golden powder), digital printing, and gold coloured leaf inserts. The table's dimensions are 2450mm in length and 990mm in height, making it suitable for hotel entrances or spacious apartments.
The design process, which took place in Bologna over a period of about 2 years, involved a team of talented designers and craftsmen from Studio Arcade, S. Mazzolini, and F. Rocchi. They developed and implemented never-before-used techniques to achieve unique effects and decorations. The design embodies the creative force and technological skill that Unica is internationally known for.
The designers faced the challenge of creating a product where the base melts into the glass top, resulting in a dynamic design that suggests movement and lightness. This design, which perfectly represents the total work of art as defined in the Baroque period, won the Silver A' Luxury Design Award in 2019. This award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
In conclusion, the Papaveri-Fioriture Collection by Unica is a testament to the power of design and craftsmanship. It's a perfect blend of art and functionality, a design that not only serves a purpose but also adds a touch of beauty and nature to any space. This collection is a reminder of the limitless possibilities of design when creativity, craftsmanship, and technology come together.
