Transforming an Abandoned House into a Unique Design

The project covers an area of 550m2 and is divided into two distinct areas: the front yard, inspired by the ocean, and the backyard, inspired by the forest. The front yard design resembles whales swimming into the sea, while the backyard design features a serene deer drinking stream in a forest setting.

The courtyard is divided into different areas, including a water scenic area, a mountain green area, a water bar area, an awning leisure area, and a children's bunker area. The clever use of visual interspersion creates a flexible and dynamic space. The design incorporates mirror stainless steel, lake blue metal plates, crystal bricks, and U-shaped glass to add a touch of modernity to the old house. The white metal plate sailing ship built into the house symbolizes the sailing of the beautiful countryside in Hainan.

The Hainan Yitu Deer Drinking Stream stands out with its unique properties and strengths. It successfully revitalizes a century-old abandoned house, giving it a new lease on life. The design showcases the beauty of the ocean and the forest, creating a harmonious blend of nature and architecture.

The interaction within the design is carefully considered. The south side of the restaurant features an awning made of lake-blue metal plates and crystal tiles, providing an outdoor dining experience. The entrance awning, symbolizing sailboats, serves as a leisure space for visitors. The north side of the yard features a children's bunker, while the east side houses a water bar, catering to the preferences of young people.

One of the main challenges faced during the project was the humid climate in Hainan, which caused dampness and mold on the walls. Waterproofing became a crucial aspect of the design, ensuring the longevity and durability of the structure.

The Hainan Yitu Deer Drinking Stream was completed in 2018 after four months of dedicated work. This unique model house not only meets the functional requirements of accommodation but also breaks through traditional thinking with its refreshing design concept.

The Hainan Yitu Deer Drinking Stream received the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2019. This award recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. It is respected for integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.
