The Family Cohesion design, created by renowned designer Kai-Chun Ma, is a residential space specifically designed to foster a strong sense of family unity. The hallway, for example, extends spatial transparency and visual interaction using grey glass, while the beams serve as the center of the space, reflecting simplicity and balance.

The Family Cohesion design project was completed in December 2018 in Taipei City, Taiwan. Throughout the design process, Kai-Chun Ma conducted extensive research to ensure that the design met the needs and desires of young families. The trapezoid shape of the dining and kitchen area, for instance, was specifically designed to create a sense of openness and rhythm through lighting and shadow.

The Family Cohesion design overcame several creative and technical challenges to achieve its goal of promoting parent-child exchange and appealing to a modern lifestyle. By skillfully applying visual extension, crisscrossing elements, and blending, the design maintains the perfect balance between flexibility and functionality.
