Digital Design Days: A Responsive Rebranding

Redesigning the Brand Identity for an International Digital Design Event

The new brand signature for Digital Design Days, created by Jekyll & Hyde, is a responsive sign that adapts to different dimensions and applications. This rebranding captures the festival's innovative vision and ability to create networks, attracting individuals with diverse ideas.

Digital Design Days is an international digital design event that brings together creative minds from around the world. When tasked with redesigning the event's brand identity, Jekyll & Hyde aimed to create a logo that would reflect the festival's internationality and its tridimensional nature.

The new logo, designed by Jekyll & Hyde, is a responsive sign that can adapt to different sizes and platforms. It is a contemporary interpretation of a brand signature, representing light, energy, and movement. The logo is composed of different elements that come together to form the letter "D," symbolizing the festival's dynamic and inclusive nature.

One of the unique properties of this design is its ability to change the frequency of its elements, allowing for efficient utilization in various applications. The logo's adaptability makes it suitable for both digital and print mediums, ensuring a consistent and impactful brand presence across different channels.

The design team at Jekyll & Hyde used a combination of traditional and digital tools to bring this concept to life. The initial design solutions were sketched on paper, and then Adobe Illustrator was used to refine and finalize the brand identity. The team also created a line version of the logo for black and white applications, ensuring consistent visual impact regardless of color.

The Digital Design Days logo features a native RGB color palette with nine colors, allowing for customization to represent different festival editions in various countries. This flexibility ensures that the brand identity remains consistent while adapting to the unique characteristics of each event location.

Throughout the design process, Jekyll & Hyde faced the challenge of representing the complexity of the digital world while maintaining adaptability across different sizes and platforms. The team successfully created a design that renews the festival's previous logo, positioning it in an international and contemporary space.

The new brand identity for Digital Design Days is not only visually striking but also functional. It represents the festival's internationality and adaptability, showcasing its tridimensional nature in the digital world while still working effectively in print. This rebranding captures the essence of the event and sets the stage for future editions.

The Digital Design Days rebranding project began in September 2018 and was publicly unveiled in July 2019. It was a result of extensive research and collaboration between Jekyll & Hyde and the founder of the festival, Filippo Spiezia. The design team analyzed the values and personality of Digital Design Days to create a brand identity that accurately represents the event's vision and mission.

This innovative design by Jekyll & Hyde has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and technical excellence, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
