Clear's Dash: A Leap Forward in Biometric Identification

Revolutionizing Security with Facial Recognition Technology

Clear's latest innovation, Dash, combines advanced technology and sleek design to redefine the future of biometric identification. This award-winning design is a testament to Clear's commitment to enhancing security and convenience in public spaces.

Derived from the inspiration of retro-futuristic airport styling cues, Dash is a perfect blend of form and function. Its rounded shapes and white color align with Clear's brand aesthetics, while its compact and sleek form signifies an evolution. The design is reminiscent of the iconic work of Eero Saarinen, a renowned architect known for his futuristic designs.

What sets Dash apart is its unique combination of a camera, processor, software, touchscreen, and LED panels with a biometric profile database. This amalgamation of technology allows Dash to provide high-quality photos for matching, even in changing light conditions. The large screen doubles as an information and advertising point, making Dash a versatile tool in public spaces.

The realization of Dash involved a meticulous process of assembling hundreds of components. From custom LED circuit boards to laser-cut, formed sheet metal, every element was carefully selected and optimized for performance and security. The stand, made from powder-coated steel tube and plates, is designed to be secure from unauthorized access, reinforcing Clear's commitment to safety.

The interaction with Dash is designed to be quick and comfortable. The user approaches Dash, follows the onscreen instructions, and within moments, their biometric data is matched against a database. If a match is found, the user is notified and can proceed with their selections on the touchscreen. In case of no match, information is displayed on the front and rear screens, and an attendant is notified.

The design process of Dash was a collaborative effort involving designers and engineers from New York, Laguna Beach, and Bristol (UK). The project started in January 2019, and the first prototypes were tested in Ft Lauderdale in April 2019. Since then, Dash has been introduced in events, sporting stadiums, hospitals, and airports across the US.

Clear's Dash is not just a product; it's a testament to the power of design and technology. It's a tool that enhances security, streamlines processes, and ultimately, makes life easier. With its award-winning design and superior performance, Dash is set to redefine the future of biometric identification.
