Song Han's Award-Winning Design: A Modern Minimalist Ambience Inspired by Nature

Song Han's design stands out for its unique properties that not only create a futuristic experience but also recapture well-established traditions. The enclosed houses, village, alley, ravine, and stream are reminiscent of sweet young days, hidden in the depths of one's mind. The design's strength lies in its ability to evoke nostalgia while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of modern design.

The realization of this design was achieved through an installation artwork named 'Murmuring Zephyr'. This masterpiece required a month-long effort from ICH inheritors in folk bamboo handicraft. The ravine and houses are all wrapped in white punched aluminum plates, giving the space a profile of varying layers and conveying a futuristic, ethereal landscape.

Measuring about 300 meters in length, the 'Murmuring Zephyr' is a testament to Song Han's commitment to creating immersive experiences. The design's interaction is facilitated by the scattered window apertures on the walls. These openings not only provoke memories but also create fine sights along the way, allowing visitors to relish a garden and a space of rich layers.

The project, which started in April 2018 in Huizhou and finished in April 2019 in Rimini, was exhibited in Huizhou in April 2019. The design research was heavily inspired by Guangdong province's hills, ravines, and streams, and aimed to create a modern minimalist ambience with a hidden ravine in the urbanscape.

Overcoming the design challenges required a month-long effort in folk bamboo handicraft to create the 'Murmuring Zephyr'. The result is a space that not only creates a futuristic experience but also recaptures the well-established tradition. The enclosed houses, village, alley, ravine, and stream could bring back the sweet young days hidden in the depths of your mind.

The design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020. This prestigious award is rewarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
