Dazzling: A Sales Centre Inspired by Ge Kiln Ceramic

Integrating Nature and Artistry in Taiwan's Countryside

The Dazzling sales centre, designed by Hsin-Yuan Lee, stands as a green building on a street corner in the Taiwan countryside. The challenge was to integrate the rectangular shapes of the building with the clear glass windows, obscuring the building facade with surrounding plants. By doing so, the structure becomes a part of nature, presenting its unique environmental features.

The design of the Dazzling sales centre is characterized by its use of irregular big shapes of wood boards, which mimic the artistic patterns of ice cracks. These boards are decorated along the way from the wall to the ceiling, allowing light to shine through the gaps and creating a dazzling effect in the exhibition space. The reception area, adorned with golden and blue colors inspired by the exclusive features of Ge Kiln ceramic, is divided into individual spaces using metal dividers decorated with golden metal sheets and grey glasses.

At night, the Dazzling sales centre truly comes alive. The lights shining on the metal sheets and glass windows reflect throughout the building, creating an enchanting and mesmerizing atmosphere. The interior design, layout, and decoration materials all contribute to bringing out the exquisite and rare features of the kiln culture.

The Dazzling sales centre, with a property size of 550 square meters, was completed on April 3, 2019, in Chunghua City, Taiwan. The design was meticulously researched, drawing inspiration from the pottery bubbles generated by high-temperature roasting. This research led to the creation of metal ceiling lamps of varying heights, as well as the incorporation of golden and blue colors in the VIP room's Chinese landscape wall.

The Dazzling sales centre has received recognition for its outstanding design. In 2020, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
