Li Zhang's Award-Winning Design Fuses Tradition with Modern Aesthetics

The reception center, located in the City of Peony, is a celebration of the city's cultural heritage. The design draws inspiration from the city's famous peonies, a flower that has been revered as the King of Flowers in China since ancient times. The space features an exhibition area at its heart, surrounded by four distinct discussion areas. The reception hall is adorned with a decorative lighting fixture in floral tassels, reflecting the pink palette of the peony and complementing the natural lines of marble. The result is a harmonious display of humanities, culture, and nature.

Zhang's design is unique in its ability to blend tradition with modern aesthetics. The use of color pairings, decoration, and styling infuses the ambiance of the space with a sense of tranquility and serenity. The design concept is a spiritual space that integrates objects and shapes, communicates emotions and scenery, and subtly presents the concept of a peony garden.

The design was realized through careful planning and thoughtful use of materials. The high ceiling, stone and wood materials, and the decoration of peonies on the wall create an aesthetic visual feast in the artistic business exhibition space. The space is rich with cultural and humanistic senses, and abundant with paintings.

The design faced challenges in incorporating local cultures into the color choices for the space. The discussion area, in contrast to the solemnity of the entrance hall, is in stony white and mint green, offering an exceptionally relaxing atmosphere. The space is filled with exquisite artworks that complement the jade marble, brushed bronze-colored stainless steel, and striped wooden surfaces.

The Blooming Peonies Picturesque was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020. The award recognizes top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. Zhang's design is admired for its strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
