Yashinomi Premium Power: A Revolution in Kitchen Detergent Packaging

Chiaki Murata's Award-Winning Design Simplifies Refilling and Enhances Kitchen Aesthetics

Yashinomi Premium Power stands out in the realm of kitchen detergents with its replaceable refill bag and stand. Unlike conventional refill packages, this design eliminates the need to pour liquid into a bottle. This approach offers several advantages: it saves time, prevents spills, eliminates the need to wash and dry the bottle before refilling, and ensures no residual liquid is wasted in the refill bag.

But the innovation doesn't stop at functionality. Murata was also inspired by the idea that conventional kitchen liquid packaging is often visually loud and disruptive in the kitchen. As a result, Yashinomi Premium Power features simple, clean graphics that seamlessly blend with kitchen interiors, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal.

Technical specifications of the product further underscore its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. The product dimensions are 120 mm x 55 mm x 167 mm, weighing 359g. It has gained the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) certification, and 1% of the sales go to BCTJ (Borneo Conservation Trust Japan), an NGO dedicated to preserving the habitat and migration routes of Borneo's wildlife.

The design process for Yashinomi Premium Power began in November 2015 and concluded in June 2016 in Osaka. The product was released to the market in October 2016. The design team included Chiaki Murata of hers design inc. and Shinji Hamaguchi of Saraya Co., Ltd.

The excellence of Yashinomi Premium Power has been recognized with a Golden A' Packaging Design Award in 2020.
