Artistic Simplicity Meets Cultural Integration in Modern Architecture

Driven by the concept of simplicity as an essential condition of artistic works, NGZ Design has created a space that rejects external decoration and carving. The design takes the current space and time as the basis of experience, presenting a unique sense of space. Through the interpretation of materials and the display of space, this case reflects the integration of cultural characteristics and the city, mapping the future, and implicitly expressing Lanzhou's characteristics from the perspective of art.

The design realization technology employed in the reception lobby area is particularly noteworthy. The ink charm of the lampshade carved by the whole stone echoes with the stone background of "Fox Volant Of The Snowy Mountain", which is the best annotation to Lanzhou's seemingly quiet but vigorous. The interlaced light and shadow and the turning point of space, the high and low levels create the changeable space and give the open space a kind of purity.

NGZ Design has also made effective use of raw materials in the design. With precise cutting machine, rough cutting is completed on the marble surface, presenting the "raw". The designer carves on the surface, using stones to create a subtle game of light and shadow. This approach not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the design but also adds a unique touch to the overall ambiance of the space.

The project started in October 2017 in Lanzhou and finished in April 2018 in Lanzhou. The design team, led by Zhichao Yang, faced numerous challenges during the design process. One of the major challenges was the creation of the stairs. The designer breaks the sequence and deconstructs it again, forming a sculptural volume, making it become an art installation connecting the art gallery and the exhibition hall.

The "CR Land Yulanshan" project is a testament to NGZ Design's commitment to creating designs that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also culturally significant. This commitment has been recognized with the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, a prestigious accolade awarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
