Powerbox Wanja is not just a study book series; it's a brand that aims to enhance the learning skills of elementary students. The design is based on the Powerbox Learning Method, a system that breaks down complex concepts into digestible bits and places them into boxes. This method not only simplifies learning but also motivates students to engage with the material. The design incorporates various box-shaped paper toys that come with the study book, capturing the learners' interest and improving their spatial cognition skills.
The design of Powerbox Wanja is unique and appealing. The use of vibrant orange colors and a symbol of a smiling child conveys a bright and fun brand atmosphere. The cube, a graphic motif used throughout the design, intrigues learners and keeps them engaged. Each academic subject is assigned a different color, making the materials easy to recognize. The cover design of the study book is coated with a glossy material, maximizing the visual impact.
Wanja is a comprehensive study book series suitable for all elementary school grades, consisting of twenty books. Each book measures 230mm by 304mm by 15mm, with paper toy specifications varying by unit. The design team, led by Creative Director Young Hyun Kim, worked meticulously to ensure that the design is consistent and engaging.
The Powerbox Wanja series offers a consistent brand experience. From the cover designs featuring cube-shaped characters to the Powerbox Learning Method used in the text and cube-shaped paper toy-making activities, Wanja provides a comprehensive learning experience. The vivid colors in the cover design create a bright brand image, while the paper toy-making activities offer an enjoyable brand experience.
This innovative project began in Seoul, Korea in August 2019 and was completed in January 2020. The series is set to be sold in Korea beginning in March 2020. Powerbox Wanja is not just a study book series; it's a testament to the power of design in enhancing learning experiences. The design was awarded the Golden A' Education, Teaching Aid, and Training Content Design Award in 2020, a testament to its innovation and effectiveness.
