Beijing Golf Palace: A Nature-Inspired Residence by Hao Gu

Bringing the Outdoors In

Beijing Golf Palace is a stunning residence designed by Hao Gu that seamlessly blends nature and art to create a unique living space. With its emphasis on natural elements and vibrant colors, this residence offers a truly immersive and visually captivating experience.

Inspired by the surrounding "trees," Hao Gu took into consideration the client's love for nature and art. The design incorporates large French windows that serve as a passage connecting the interior with the natural landscape outside. This integration of the outdoors creates a sense of harmony and tranquility within the space.

The living room is the centerpiece of the residence, adorned with various natural elements that create an enchanting ecological environment. The use of high-saturation colors adds a dynamic touch, with contrasting hues colliding to create stunning visual effects. The K'o-ssu tapestry, a type of Chinese silk tapestry, adds depth to the space, complementing the vivid colors of the frescos and conveying the beauty of nature.

One of the unique features of Beijing Golf Palace is its use of large white spaces and heavy colors, symbolizing the grandeur of nature. These design choices enhance the sense of space, resembling lively oil paintings that come to life within the residence.

The realization of this design involved the use of materials such as jazz white marble, stone-effect porcelain tiles, three-ply wood panels, and mirrored stainless steel. These materials not only contribute to the overall aesthetic but also ensure the durability and longevity of the design.

Beijing Golf Palace spans an area of 228 square meters and falls under the category of a residence. Its location, adjacent to Beijing Chaoyang Golf Club and with easy access to Chaoyang Park, provides a serene and picturesque environment. Surrounded by ginkgo and clove trees, the residence exudes an air of luxury and sophistication, seamlessly integrating with its natural surroundings.

The construction of Beijing Golf Palace began in May 2019 and was completed in August of the same year. Throughout the project, the design team faced several challenges, including a tight timeframe of just three months. Additionally, as it was a redecoration project, certain elements had to be preserved while others required redesigning. The incorporation of expensive and delicate art pieces collected by the owner also posed a challenge, requiring careful consideration of display spaces. Finally, the team had to ensure that the natural sense of the surrounding trees, which was the highlight for the owner, was preserved and enhanced.

Beijing Golf Palace has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. This prestigious award is a testament to the design's practicality, innovation, and adherence to professional and industrial standards. The residence's integration of nature, art, and functionality creates a space that not only fulfills the owner's desires but also contributes to a better world.
