Bathing in the Sunshine: A Modern and Minimalist Residence Design

Creating a Warm and Natural Living Environment

The "Bathing in the Sunshine" residence, designed by Yu-Chun Yi and Lu-Wei Huang, is a unique and innovative take on modern living. Inspired by the client's preference for materials with wood grain, the designers have created a warm and natural living environment that combines the beauty of wood, stone, and abundant natural light.

The designers have focused on the concept that form follows function, ensuring that the residence is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional. They have incorporated numerous storage cabinets and a window seat, providing ample space for the client's hobbies and needs. The clear layout of the residence ensures a seamless flow between different areas.

One of the standout features of this design is the unconventional placement of the bed. Unlike typical interior designs, where the dressing room acts as a division between the bed and bathroom, the designers have placed the bed in the middle. This innovative layout reduces the problem of the dressing room becoming damp when located near the bathroom.

The "Bathing in the Sunshine" residence showcases the designers' attention to detail and their commitment to creating a functional and aesthetically pleasing living environment. The use of wooden flooring tiles, laminate flooring, marble tiles, and slate tiles, along with paint baked coating boards and system furniture, adds to the overall elegance and sophistication of the design.

With a total area of 135.5 square meters, the residence includes an entrance, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a study, three bedrooms, and three bathrooms. Each space has been carefully designed to maximize functionality and create a harmonious living environment.

The designers have taken into consideration the client's daily needs and have reimagined the space to create two distinct areas. One side of the house is dedicated to public use, with an open dining room that is perfect for entertaining friends. The designers have also reconfigured the narrow aisle and furniture placement to ensure a fluent traffic flow and create a relaxing and elegant living environment.

The "Bathing in the Sunshine" residence was completed in January 2019 in New Taipei City, Taiwan. Throughout the design process, the designers conducted extensive research to ensure that the materials and furniture arrangement resonated with the client's lifestyle and needs. The result is a functional and aesthetically pleasing living environment that showcases the client's extraordinary taste.

This exceptional design has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. This prestigious award is given to designs that are well-designed, practical, and innovative, meeting professional and industrial requirements. The "Bathing in the Sunshine" residence stands out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and contribution to a better world.

With its modern and minimalist design, the "Bathing in the Sunshine" residence offers a unique and sophisticated living experience. The combination of wood, marble, and delicate decorations creates an elegant space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. This residence is a testament to the designers' ability to create a warm and natural living environment that reflects the client's style and enhances their daily life.
