EduTainer: Portable Education Container

Bringing Education to Remote Areas

EduTainer is the first of five Tainer solutions developed by Csaba Tolgyesy. It offers a highly mobile solution by bringing educational facilities and medical help centers to regions where access to education and basic healthcare is limited. The primary strength of this design lies in its functionality and reliability.

One of the key features of EduTainer is its portability. It can be assembled and disassembled in a matter of hours, making it easy to transport and set up in remote areas. When packed, it is the size of a standard transportation container. Once installed, it transforms into a fully functioning classroom with sides that open up.

EduTainer is equipped with digital devices necessary for teacherless and independent learning, climate control, and a modular nature that can accommodate entire schools, not just single classrooms. The design combines functionality and aesthetics, creating a welcoming and modern learning environment.

The design of EduTainer prioritizes reliability and sturdiness. The units are made with semi-automatic profile cutter machinery, semi-automatic welding, and constructing robotic arms. The majority of the parts are made of aluminum and steel, manufactured with CNC machines, and attached to the container frame as modules.

With a length of 13,716 mm, a width of 2,438 mm when closed and 4,500 mm when opened, and a height of 2,895 mm, EduTainer is designed to be durable and long-lasting. The weight of the container is approximately 4,820 kg when empty and around 7,430 kg when equipped.

The EduTainer project started as a concept in mid-2019, and the team is now ready to manufacture the prototype in a hangar used to build custom containers. They are actively seeking clients who are interested in bringing education and healthcare to remote areas.

Recognized for its innovative design, EduTainer was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Education, Teaching Aid, and Training Content Design category in 2020. This prestigious award is given to designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills and contribute to improving the quality of life.
