Creating a Home Omnipresent with Laid-Back Ambience

The design of Calm and Repose sets it apart from other residential buildings. The use of materials with simple and plain textures creates a sense of modern simplicity throughout the interior space. The house decoration avoids complex designs, allowing the focus to be on the stunning outdoor views. This approach creates a home that is omnipresent with a laid-back ambience, providing a sanctuary from the hectic outside world.

The building materials used in Calm and Repose are carefully chosen to enhance the overall design. The TV wall, adorned with large stone grain tiles, creates a sense of spaciousness as soon as one enters the house. Behind the sofa, the walls are mounted with leathers in irregular sizes, while brushed wood veneers extend from the floor, seamlessly combining the cold solid texture of the stone grain tiles with the warm texture of the leathers and veneers.

Calm and Repose spans an impressive 430 square meters, offering ample space for residents to enjoy and relax in. The design team, consisting of Chi Wei Lin and Yu Chih Chang, meticulously planned and executed every aspect of the project to ensure a harmonious blend of nature and modernity.

This exceptional residential building has been recognized for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2020 in the category of Architecture, Building, and Structure Design. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
