Combining Natural Geography and Cultural Attributes for a Unique Design

The inspiration for the design came from the natural geographical advantages of the location, combined with Wanning's unique cultural attributes. The design team adopted a narrative method in the design, taking the concept of a cruise ship as a starting point and integrating architecture, landscape, and interior design.

What sets this design apart is the use of simple and flowing lines to outline the space, and the decorative technique of cruise ship doors to divide and reorganize the space. The concept of a smooth and smart cruise ship continues the interior lines, textures, materials, and shapes, creating a sense of journeying to vast places around the world.

The design was realized using wood grain aluminum plate for the wall and ceiling, chosen for its flame-retardant and moisture-proof properties, and its reflection of integration with the natural landscape. The project covers a total of 1958 square meters, and was completed between September 2019 and May 2020.

The design team faced the challenge of inheriting the natural charm of the former fishing village, choosing to use sandstone, granite, wood, and crushed stones as major materials, retaining the marks of the past. The line of the circular arc is applied in space in great quantities, reflecting the gentle coastline of Wanning and echoing the architectural appearance characteristics.

The design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation. The copyrights for the design belong to Fandy, the photographer of the project's images.
